One Vehicle Injury Crash near Gooding

On February 18, 2012, at approximately 3:19 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle crash on Interstate 84 at milepost 154, near Gooding, Idaho.

Wanda Leake, 47, of Kalama, WA, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 84 in a Toyota Rav4 when she fell asleep and drove off the roadway. Leake woke up and after realizing she was off the road, overcorrected the vehicle, causing it to roll. Leake's passenger, Kayla Faubion, 24, of Vancouver, WA was ejected from the vehicle. Faubion was life flighted to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise with life threatening injuries. Leake was transported by ground ambulance to Gooding Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. The left lane of travel was blocked for approximately three and a half hours.

The crash is under investigation by Sr. Tpr. Nick Walker, who was assisted at the scene by Cpls. Wendler and Debie, and Gooding County emergency personnel.
