On Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 1:37 am, the Idaho State Police investigated a three vehicle injury crash on US 93 at milepost 7.5 near the border to Nevada. Richard Harder, 59 of Helena MT, driving a Ford Ranger was travelling southbound on US93 and for unknown reasons went off the road. Harder overcorrected and rolled, coming to rest in the middle of the roadway on a slight curve. Igor Avakov, 40 of Twin Falls, driving a 2005 Toyota Corolla was travelling northbound and didn't see Harder's vehicle in the roadway. Avakov swerved to avoid the collision and hit Harder's vehicle on the left side causing him to go off the road. Lennie Winton, 49 of Poulsbo WA, driving a 1996 Toyota Prius was travelling southbound also swerved to avoid the crash, did not make contact and went off the roadway.
Both lanes were completely blocked for approximately one hour. The southbound lane is currently open and crews on scene are providing traffic control. Harder and Avakov were transported by ground ambulance to St. Lukes Magic Valley Hospital in Twin Falls with non life threatening injuries. Winston was not injured.

Officers on scene are encouraging motorists to be cautious of road conditions for the possibility of black ice in some spots. Will update when the lanes of travel have been opened for travel. The crash is still under investigation at this time.
