Idaho State Police News Release
For Immediate Release - 05/11/11
For Information: Contact: Major Kedrick Wills
(208) 884-7207

The Idaho State Police is currently in the process of investigating three employees for violations of Idaho State Police procedure as it relates to their activities associated with our forensics laboratory system. These employees have been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of this investigation. The Idaho State Police Bureau of Forensic Services is internationally accredited by the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors Laboratory Accreditation Board and the Idaho State Police is working with representatives of ASCLD/LAB on this issue. The allegations concerning the three employees are not criminal in nature, and we have no reason to believe the issues have compromised any current or past casework. Rather their actions may have been inconsistent with ISP procedures or ASCLD/LAB standards. We have the utmost confidence in our laboratory employees and the service they provide to our citizens. We do not believe these issues are any more widespread than these three individuals. Because the current investigation is a personnel matter, we are not at liberty to discuss this any further or provide additional information at this time. If you have any questions on this issue, please contact Major Kedrick Wills at (208) 884-7207.
