On Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 1055 am, Idaho State Police investigated a fatality crash on State Highway 55 at milepost 147.75, near McCall, Idaho. Carol Martin, age 67 of Moscow, Idaho, driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, was traveling northbound when she drifted into the southbound lanes and was struck head-on by Jeanette Dames, age 57 of Pollock, Idaho, who was driving a 2009 Ford Bus.
Carol Martin succumbed to injuries at the scene. Her passenger, Don Martin, age 75 of Moscow, was transported by air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho with unknown injuries.
Senior Trooper Michael Sherbondy was assisted by Master Corporal Craig Boll, Adams County Sheriff's Office, Adams County Paramedics, McCall Paramedics, Donnelly Paramedics, and Adams County Coroner.
