On Monday November 15, 2010, at approximately 6:00 PM, the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury crash northbound on SH67 at milepost 1.8 in Mountain Home by the Mountain Home Air Force Base. Mickey McConnell, 43, of Twin Falls was headed north on SH67 in a 1989 International Semi pulling a 1977 flatbed trailer. Brian Silva, 25, currently stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base, was also north on SH67 in a 1969 Ford Mustang when McConnell attempted to make a u-turn on SH67. Silva's vehicle struck the driver's side of the commercial vehicle. Silva was trapped within his vehicle for an unknown amount of time before being extricated and taken by ground ambulance to Elmore Medical Center where he was then taken by air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical center in Boise where he is being treated for critical injuries. McConnell was not injured in the crash. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. McConnell was taken into custody and booked into the Elmore County Jail for driving without privileges.

This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police Trooper Jussel, with assistance from Master Corporal Robertson, Senior Specialist Turnbull, Corporal Eller, Sergeant Ketchum, Elmore County Deputies and EMS personnel.
