Idaho State Police troopers and Boise Police officers investigated a two-vehicle non-injury collision on westbound I-84 near the Gowen Interchange Thursday evening.
Investigating troopers report that at about 7:35 pm, James Young, age 39 of Boise, and was driving a 1982 Ford Bronco westbound on Interstate 84, east of the Gowen Road interchange. He was pulling a boat trailer with a 1983 Bayliner boat. His passenger was Greg Liddle, age 39 of Boise. Both were wearing seat belts. They had been fishing at CJ Strike Reservoir.

Robert Miller, age 58 of Garden City, was driving his 1992 Dodge Caravan westbound on I-84. Miller rear-ended the boat trailer and boat. The boat was moved forward and struck the rear of the Bronco. The boat then became detached from the trailer and skidded down the roadway and off the right side. The boat and trailer was a total loss. Other traffic was damaged by the debris.

Miller fled the scene and exited I-84 at the Broadway Interchange. He nearly caused an additional crash before the Boise Police stopped him on Broadway Avenue.

Miller has a previous felony DUI conviction. He was charged with Felony DUI, driving while suspended and leaving the scene of a property damage collision by the Boise Police Department.

The crash is being investigated by Cpl. S. Klitch of the Idaho State Police, with assistance from Sgt. Burke and troopers Bake, Thompson, and N. Walker.
