On Sunday, September 12, 2010, at approximately 6:15pm, the Idaho State Police investigated a one vehicle crash near the intersection of US30 and Adell St in Filer. Quincy Shell, 24, from Gooding, was traveling east on US30 near Adell St in the right lane. A seven year old female was attempting to cross US30 just east of Adell St. A second eastbound car, in the left lane next to Shell, stopped to let the female cross. Shell was not aware the female was crossing the highway, and did not see her until she had crossed in front of the vehicle to his left. Shell braked and swerved, trying to keep from striking her. The female juvenile was struck by the left front fender of Shell's truck. She was transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley Regional Hospital in Twin Falls. She was later released with minor injuries. Alcohol was not a factor in this crash. The crash is under investigation by Trooper M. Dahl. Dahl was assisted at the scene by Idaho State Police Trooper M. Wendler, Filer Police Department and Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office.
