On Monday, July 12, 2010, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a one-vehicle rollover that occurred westbound on Interstate 84, just east of the Gowen Road exit.

Corazon Gildersleeve, 52 of Nampa, was driving westbound on the interstate, when for unknown reasons she went off the road. She then overcorrected to the left, where the vehicle rolled and landed on its top in the median. Gildersleeve and a 13 year old male were both transported to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Both subjects were wearing seatbelts and alcohol was not a factor in this crash. This crash is under investigation by Trooper J. Sharp.

Twenty minutes later, a secondary crash occurred at this same location. Miranda Sanders, 57 of Texas, was riding her BMW motorcycle westbound in the area of the crash. She was following behind her husband, also on a motorcycle. A Boise Police Unit was stationary in the left lane, providing traffic control for the first crash. Bruce Sanders swerved to avoid the patrol unit. Miranda Sanders was unable to avoid the patrol unit and struck the patrol car with the right side of the saddle bags on her bike. Miranda Sanders was transported by ground ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center with a broken leg. This crash is under investigation by Trooper J. Pattis.
