On March 10th, 2020 at approximately 4:14 pm, an injury crash occurred southbound US95 at milepost 278.9, near Winchester, Idaho. A blue 2008 BMW motorcycle, ridden by Matthew B Smith, 50, of Riggins, Idaho, was travelling south on US95 along with a white 2018 Dodge Ram, driven by Ricky L Dalgliesh, 59, of Ferdinand, Idaho. Both Smith and Dalgliesh went into the other lane to pass a third vehicle that wasn't involved when the two vehicles side-swiped one another, resulting in Smith riding off the road. Smith was transported by air ambulance to St. Joseph Medical Center in Lewiston. He was wearing a helmet. Dalgliesh was not injured in the crash. The roadway was blocked for the helicopter to land. The investigation is continuing.
