On Thursday January 2, 2020, at approximately 12:27 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated a property damage crash south bound on US93 at milepost 40.5, near the intersection of East 3800 North, south of Filer.

Antonio Hernandez-Guzman, 32, of Jerome, was traveling southbound on US93 in a 2020 Volvo semi-truck hauling two empty milk tankers. Hernandez-Guzman hit black ice, went into the northbound lane where he went off the shoulder, striking a stop sign and power pole. Hernandez-Guzman's vehicle came to rest in the barrow pit. Power lines were knocked down, causing blockage in both the northbound and southbound lanes.

Hernandez-Guzman was wearing his seatbelt. Idaho State Police was assisted by Idaho Power, Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office, Filer Police Department, and Filer Fire Department. All lanes are currently blocked at this time while Idaho Power works on the power lines.
