On Monday, July 29, 2019, at 11:51 P.M., the Idaho State Police investigated a single-vehicle fatality crash on northbound US95 at milepost 132.2, approximately four miles south of Council.
Michael R. Papaleo, 68, of Newport, Washington, was riding northbound on US95 on a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Papaleo drove off the left side of the roadway and into a field where he became separated from the motorcycle. Papaleo succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. Papaleo was wearing a helmet.

Next of kin has been notified.
