On Saturday, June 22, 2019, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated a five vehicle crash on I84 near milepost 42, in Meridian.

All five vehicles were traveling westbound:
1996 Freightliner Truck pulling a 5th wheel toy hauler driven by Cleo Sanders, 59, of Nampa.
2011 Toyota Sienna van driven by Lindsie McDaniel, 36, of Meridian.
2017 Ford F150 driven by Kelly Johnson, 57, of Meridian.
2015 Jeep Cherokee driven by June Laraway, 58, of Meridian.
2006 Ford F350 pulling a camp trailer driven by Benjamin DeWhitt, 34, of Oregon City, Oregon.

Sanders vehicle began to shake. While slowing and moving to the right shoulder both left rear tires came off Sanders vehicle and rolled into traffic.
McDaniel, Johnson and Laraway were in the right lane and slowed to avoid the tires.
DeWhitt failed to slow and stuck the rear of Laraway's Jeep. Laraway then struck the rear of Johnson's F150, which in turn struck the rear of McDaniel's van.
Following this series of collisions Johnson's vehicle then struck the left rear of Sander's truck.

All subjects were wearing their seatbelts.
Two subjects were transported by ground to St. Lukes in Meridian.

All westbound lanes of travel were blocked for approximately 2 hours.
This crash is under investigation by Idaho State Police.
