On February 26, 2019 at approximately 7:10am a property damage crash occurred on State Highway 13 milepost 3, three miles north of Grangeville, ID. A 1981 Mack semi tractor hauling two gasoline tanker trailers driven by Jon S. Jones, 72, of Missoula, MT was travelling southbound when he had to take evasive actions to avoid a collision with a northbound dark blue unloaded logging truck that was crowding the center of the highway. Mr. Jones drove off the right shoulder of the highway and into the ditch where the semi rolled onto its side; he was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. The trailers of the fuel truck have leaked approximately 2500 gallons of gasoline. A Hazardous Materials team is evaluating the scene. The southbound lanes of the highway are still blocked while clean up and recovery are taking place. The dark blue unloaded logging truck did not stop at the scene and ISP is asking for anyone with information as to who the owner and/or driver is to please call Tpr. Juber with information.
