**Final Update**

On Friday, December 21, 2018, at 7:54 p.m. Idaho State Police investigated a crash on Interstate 84 just east of exit 36, the Franklin Blvd. exit in Nampa.

A juvenile pedestrian on Interstate 84 just east of the Franklin Blvd. exit attempted to cross the lanes of traffic from right to left. The juvenile was struck by a 2018 Freightliner commercial truck, driven by Victor Garringer, 50, of Emmett. The juvenile succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the crash. The juvenile's next of kin have been notified.

The westbound lanes of I-84 were blocked for about two hours while troopers investigated the incident.
