COEUR d'ALENE - Kootenai County law enforcement agencies will discuss their partnership this holiday season to prevent impaired driving at a media event on Monday, November 19. The event will be held at 10 a.m. at the Idaho State Police building at 615 West Wilbur Avenue in CDA.

This year, law enforcement agencies and local businesses have joined forces in memory of Jacob Leeder, who was the son of Sergeant Tim Leeder with the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office. He died last December after the vehicle he was riding in was struck by a drunk driver.

The Leeder family, along with representatives from participating agencies and businesses, will attend and be available for comment. The drama department from Lakeland High School will also provide their public service announcement featuring local law enforcement and the Leeder family to remind drivers to choose wisely this holiday season.
Emphasis patrols are often funded by grants from ITD's Office of Highway Safety.
