On Friday, October 5, 2018 at approximately 9:55 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated an injury crash at the intersection of Conway Road and Purple Sage Road near Notus in Canyon County.

Marcos Serna Castillo, 61, of Pasco, WA, was southbound on Conway Road in a 1999 Freightliner semi pulling a single trailer. Colton Doramus, 19, of Caldwell, was westbound on Purple Sage Road in a 2007 Subaru Legacy. There was a juvenile passenger in his vehicle.

The Freightliner did not yield at a stop sign and collided with the Subaru in the intersection. The Freightliner went off the road and through a fence, and struck a parked vehicle which was pushed into other parked vehicles. The Freightliner also struck a power pole. The Subaru came to rest against the semi on the right shoulder.

The occupants of the Subaru were transported to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise by ground ambulance. All of the occupants were wearing seatbelts. Power was out in the area for several hours. The road was blocked for approximately four and a half hours while crews worked to clear the scene.

The crash is under investigation by Idaho State Police.
