On September 24, 2018 at approximately 4:35 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury crash at the intersection of North 600 West and West 800 North in Minidoka County.

Layton Larson, 72, of Rupert, was eastbound on 800 North in a 2013 Blue Bird school bus. There were three juvenile passengers on the school bus. Venessa Savage, 30, of Heyburn, was northbound on 600 West in a 2005 Hyundai Sonata. The school bus failed to yield at a stop sign, and the two vehicles collided in the intersection.

The Hyundai went off the right shoulder and rolled. Savage was not wearing a seatbelt. She was transported to Minidoka Memorial Hospital by ground ambulance and then to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello by air ambulance. The school bus came to rest in the intersection. Larson was wearing a seatbelt.

The intersection was blocked for two hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
The crash is under investigation by Idaho State Police.
