On Friday, April 6, 2018, at approximately 11:25 P.M., the Idaho State Police investigated a vehicle versus pedestrian injury crash on US20 at milepost 309, near Idaho Falls.

Mariela Resendiz, 23, of Idaho Falls, was driving eastbound on US20 in a 2016 Chevrolet Cruz. Don Phelps, 32, of Idaho Falls, was walking on the highway in the lane of travel and was hit by the vehicle.

Phelps was transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
