On Saturday, March 31, 2018, at 9:17 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury crash at the intersection of State Highway 55 (Karcher Road) and Florida Avenue, in Caldwell.

Angel U. Ramos Altamirano, 23, of Caldwell, was driving a 2002 Hyundai XG350 southbound on Florida Avenue when he did not stop for a stop sign at the intersection of State Highway 55 (Karcher Road).

Linda Gerthung, 48, of Marsing, was driving a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander. Gerthung was westbound on Karcher Road when she was struck by Ramos Altamirano's vehicle. Both vehicles went off the southwest corner of the intersection.

Ramos Altamirano was not injured. His passenger, Alexis Gutierrez, 24, of Nampa, was transported by ground ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center of Boise. Both occupants were wearing seatbelts.

Gerthung, along with her passengers: David Gerthung, 42; Benjamin Gerthung, 19; and a minor child were all transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke's in Nampa. All occupants were wearing seatbelts.

This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
