On Thursday, November 9, 2017, at 8:09 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a three-vehicle injury crash on State Highway 55 at milepost 136 (Fairbrother Lane) south of McCall.

Richard Scott, age 69, of Sacramento, California, was driving northbound on State Highway 55, in a 2013 Ford F150 pickup when he lost control, crossed the center line, and went into a broad slide.

Kathryn Thier, age 35, of McCall, was driving southbound on State Highway 55 in a 2015 Toyota Rav4. Thier drove off the left shoulder and into a ditch to avoid colliding with Scott's vehicle.

Dean Neptune, age 24, of Nampa, was behind Thier in a 2018 International commercial box truck, struck Scott's pickup. Both vehicles came to rest in a ditch off the right shoulder.

Scott was transported by ground ambulance to the McCall Hospital. All occupants were wearing seatbelts.

The intersection for State Highway 55 and Fairbrothers Lane was blocked for approximately 2 hours.

This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
