On Sunday, October 15, 2017, at approximately 12:00 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a three-vehicle, injury crash on SH-55 at milepost 77, south of Banks.

Lloyd Corn, 77, of Nampa, was in a 1997 Coach motorhome, stopped in the lane of travel with a turn signal on, waiting to turn into a pullout. Michael Moser, 62, of Eagle, was driving a 2015 Ford F150 pickup and struck the motorhome. The motorhome was then struck by a 1995 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Jay Waltman, 17, of Middleton.

Moser was transported via air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.
The lanes were partially blocked for two and a half hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
