**** Update 4 ****

On Monday, October 16, 2017, at approximately 10:10 P.M., Idaho State Police investigating a two vehicle hit and run crash on eastbound Interstate 84 at milepost 43, just prior the Meridian Road exit.

Costancio Rodriguez, age 44, of Hermiston, OR, was driving eastbound in a 2005 Kenworth Semi, pulling one flatbed trailer. Rodriguez was struck from behind by a 2007 Mazda MZ3. The Mazda became fully engulfed in flames. The driver of the Mazda was not present when law enforcement arrived on scene.

The eastbound lanes of travel were blocked as emergency personnel worked to put out the fire. The lanes were blocked for approximately one hour and forty five minutes.
