On October 31, 2017 at approximately 6:21 a.m., a fatality crash occurred on US95 at milepost 425, 4 miles south of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. A white 1998 BMW 540 sedan, driven by Joshua D. Jim, 19, of Plummer, Idaho was traveling northbound, negotiating a slight curve when a blue 2003 Dodge Ram 1500, driven by Christopher J. Thompson, 28, of Post Falls, Idaho, who was southbound in the left lane of the two southbound lanes, crossed left of center and struck Mr. Jim's vehicle. Mr. Jim was transported to Kootenai Health where he was pronounced deceased; he was wearing his safety belt. Mr. Thompson was transported to Kootenai Health; he was not wearing his safety belt. The investigation is still ongoing at this time with charges pending.
