On June 26, 2017, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a fatality crash on US 26 at milepost 173, between Shoshone and Richfield, ID.

Judy K. Childs, 54, of Shoshone, was stopped in the eastbound lane of travel in a 2000 Jeep, waiting for traffic to clear so she could make a left-hand turn into a driveway. Steven K. Jones, 66, of Jerome was travelling eastbound behind Childs on a 2011 Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Jones did not slow for Childs' vehicle and struck it.

Childs was wearing a seatbelt. Jones was not wearing a helmet and succumbed to his injuries at the crash scene.

Next of kin has been notified.
