On Thursday, June 2nd, 2016 at 8:30 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a one-vehicle crash on State Highway 55 near milepost 67, about 3 miles north of Horseshoe Bend.

Ashley Grimm, age 31, of Emmett, was driving a 2009 Ford Econoline van northbound on State Highway 55 when the vehicle left the lane of travel off the right shoulder and rolled. Grimm was transported by air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. A passenger in the vehicle, Titus Grimm, age 4, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Four other juvenile passengers in the vehicle were not injured.

State Highway 55 was blocked for investigatory purposes for about one hour, and then one lane was reopened to traffic. The scene was cleared and both lanes open to traffic at 11:42 p.m.
