On March 16, 2016 at approximately 6:05 AM, Idaho State Police investigated an injury crash westbound on I84 at mile marker 170, near Twin Falls.

Michael Oulman, 48, of Buhl, ID, was traveling eastbound on I84 in a 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup. Oulman lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, overturned in the median and came to rest blocking both westbound lanes of the interstate. Oulman was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. John Hawkins, 44, of Twin Falls, ID, was westbound on I84 in a 2006 International van, was unable to stop in time and collided with the pickup that was blocking the lanes of travel. Hawkins was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured. Oulman was transported to Saint Alphonsus Hospital in Boise via air ambulance.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 84 were completely blocked for approximately 1.5 hours. One lane of travel is currently open. Information on the lane blockage will be updated when possible.

The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
