On Sunday, March 20, 2016, at approximately 3:05 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle fatality crash on US30 at milepost 370, near Lava Hot Springs. A 2007 Toyota Camry, driven by Austin Rausch, 18 of Idaho Falls, was eastbound on US30, when he crossed into the westbound lanes and struck a 2013 Nissan Versa, driven by Nyals Bodine, 34 of North Ogden, UT. Bodine and his passengers, Leah Tingey, 57 of North Ogden, UT and Jeffrey Tingey, 61 of North Ogden, UT, were all wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Nyals Bodine and Leah Tingey succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Jeffrey Tingey was transported by air ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center. Rausch was not wearing his seatbelt and was transported by ground ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center. The investigation is ongoing.
