On February 20, 2016, at approximately 9:03 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated an injury crash at North Midland Boulevard and West Railroad Street in Nampa, Canyon County, Idaho. Vanessa Guillen, 25, of Notus, was traveling south on Midland Boulevard in a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am. Guillen drove around the railroad crossing arms and was struck by an eastbound Union Pacific train. The Pontiac spun off the road, striking a large electrical box. The crossing arms were down and active at the time of the crash.
