Update*

At approximately 11:22 p.m. on Monday, February 22, 2016, Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle crash involving a FedEx truck, westbound on Interstate 84 near milepost 97, just east of Mountain Home.


Tayler Kerns, 22, of Haines, Oregon, and two passengers Thomas Newbill, 29, of Durham, Californa and Christopher Patrick, 23, of Baker City, Oregon, were stationary on the westbound right shoulder of the Interstate in a 2006 Dodge pickup pulling a trailer carrying a 2007 Dodge pickup. Travis Trowbridge, 27, of Boise, was travelling westbound in a 2015 Volvo FedEx tractor hauling three trailers. The commercial vehicle struck the trailer with the Dodge pickup on the right shoulder. The second and third fedex trailers overturned and the vehicle came to rest in the median. The third trailer caught fire.

The eastbound and westbound lanes were blocked for approximately five and a half hours while crews worked to clear the scene. The eastbound lanes have been open for approximately two hours while the westbound side remains blocked at this time for cleanup.

No one was injured in the crash. Trowbridge was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision.This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

The Idaho State Police is on scene of a semi fire westbound I-84 near milepost 97. Both eastbound and westbound lanes are blocked between 95 and 99.

All traffic is being diverted at this time.
