Shortly before 1:00 a.m., this morning, January 24, 2016, the Idaho State Police investigated a crash westbound on I84 at milepost 182, near the junction of Highway 50. Aileen Medrano, age 19 of Rupert, was westbound in a Volkswagen Jetta when she struck a Chrysler minivan from behind. The identity of the driver of the minivan has not yet been verified. After impact, the Volkswagen continued across the median, over the eastbound lanes and the frontage road, and came to rest in a field. The minivan continued to the north of the interstate and rolled. Medrano and her passenger were transported to St. Alphonsus in Twin Falls. Several of the occupants of the minivan were also transported.
