On Friday, October 02, 2015, the Idaho State Police investigated two crashes eastbound I-84 at milepost 35, in Nampa.

The first crash occurred at 11:29 a.m. Mark Pierce, 32, of Nampa, was eastbound in a 2014 Ford F-550 in lane one. Matthew Newton, 58, of Caldwell, was behind the Ford F-550 on a 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle FLHTK. Christopher Craig, 18, of Caldwell, was behind the Harley Davidson in a 1993 Ford Ranger. Both the Ford F-550 and the Harley Davidson stopped for traffic congestion. The Ford Ranger struck the rear of the Harley Davidson, pushing it into the rear of the Ford F-550. Newton was transported to St. Alphonsus Urgent Care in Nampa by ground ambulance. Newton was wearing a helmet, and both Craig and Pierce were wearing their seatbelts.

The second crash occurred at 11:35, directly behind the scene of the first crash. Cori Chapman, 55, of Nampa, was eastbound in a 2006 Ford Expedition. Mark Sosnowski, 60, of Boise, was behind her in a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban. The Ford stopped for traffic ahead, and the Chevrolet struck the rear of the Ford. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.

Lane one was blocked for approximately half-an-hour. Both crashes are under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
