On Thursday, October 22, 2015, at approximately 8:20 a.m., a two vehicle fatality crash occurred on State Highway 24 at milepost 36, near Kimama. A 1998 Kenworth beet hauler, driven by Armando Rivera, 61 of Rupert, was entering State Highway 24 westbound, from southbound off of 850 West Rd. A 2007 Peterbuilt hauling beet pulp, driven by Marcos Delgado, 29 of Kimberly was headed eastbound on State Highway 24 and struck Rivera's truck on the driver's side. Rivera was wearing his seatbelt and received non-life threatening injuries. It is unknown if Delgado was wearing his seatbelt, and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Next of Kin has been notified. Heavy fog was a contributing factor in the crash.

The highway remains blocked at this time while crews investigate the crash and clear the debris from the scene.

The Idaho State Police are currently investigating a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 24 at milepost 36, near Kimama. The crash occurred at approximately 8:25 a.m. There is one confirmed fatality and the highway is completely blocked at this time.
