On Saturday, September 19, 2015, at 2:45 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a semi truck on fire southbound I15 at milepost 99, north of Blackfoot.

Ernest Griggs, 39, of Filer, Idaho, was driving southbound on I15 in a 2005 Peterbuilt semi pulling three trailers loaded with hay when the hay and trailers caught fire. Griggs was able to pull onto the shoulder, disconnect the power unit from the trailers, and was not injured.

The lanes were at least partially blocked for over seven hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
