Final Update - Two vehicle crash on US91

On September 14, 2015, at approximately 5:45 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury crash at the intersection of Tyhee Road and U.S. Highway 91, in Bannock County. Angela Heggenberger, age 19, of Chubbuck, ID, was traveling westbound on Tyhee Road in a 1996 Geo Prism. Heggenberger failed to yield from the stop sign at the intersection of Tyhee Road and U.S. Highway 91, and struck a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Rudolph Menta, age 76, of Pocatello, ID. Heggenberger was transported by private vehicle to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello. Heggenberger's passenger, Whitney Blattner, age 21, of Pocatello, ID, along with Menta were transported by ground ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello.

The northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 91 were blocked for one hour and ten minutes while crews worked to clear the scene.

Heggenberger was arrested for possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, and cited for failure to yield from a stop sign.

The crash is under investigation by Idaho State Police.

The Idaho State Police is currently investigating a two vehicle injury crash, northbound on U.S. Highway 91 at milepost 82.5, at the intersection of Tyhee Road and Yellowstone Ave. At this time U.S. Highway 91 is blocked in both directions.
