Two vehicle injury crash east of American Falls

On June 7, 2015, at approximately 4 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle injury crash eastbound Interstate 86 at milepost 44, east of American Falls. Michael Plankers, 73, of Springfield, Tennessee, was traveling east in a 2004 Chevy Silverado when his vehicle left the roadway and collided with a 1995 Chevy Suburban that was stationary on the right shoulder. When the Silverado collided with the Suburban, the Suburban struck Larry Wright, 60, of American Falls, who was standing in front of the vehicle. The Silverado struck Fawn Wright, 51, also of American Falls, who was standing on the right side of the Suburban. Patricia Wright, 10, and Skylee Coppock, 10, were inside the Suburban when it was struck.

All involved parties were transported to Portneuf Medical Center, in Pocatello. Fawn Wright was transported by air ambulance. Plankers was transported by ground ambulance. Larry Wright and the two juveniles were taken by private vehicle. All occupants inside of vehicles were wearing seatbelts.

This crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
