Three-vehicle crash near New Plymouth

On Saturday, June 13, 2015, at approximately 1:31 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a three-vehicle, injury crash at the intersection on SH-52 and SH-72, near New Plymouth.

Michelle Johnson, 36, of Coquille, Oregon, was southbound on SH-52 in a 2010 Honda Accord. James Sando, 42, of Emmett, was westbound on SH-72 in a 2008 Ford Mustang. Jeremie Vanpaepeghem, 38, of Nampa, was eastbound on SH-72 in a 2015 Ford F-250.

The Accord stopped at a stop sign on SH-52, but failed to yield to the Mustang. The Accord struck the Mustang on the passenger side, and came to rest on SH-72. The Mustang spun around and was struck on the driver's side by the Ford F-250. Both the Mustang and F-250 came to rest on SH-72, as well.

It is unknown if any of the occupants were wearing seatbelts. Sando was taken to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center by air ambulance. Johnson was taken to St. Alphonsus Ontario by ground ambulance. Vanpaepeghem was not transported to the hospital. SH-72 was blocked for approximately two hours. SH-52 was not blocked.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
