On Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at approximately 4:33 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle crash westbound US26 at milepost 176, west of Richfield.

James N. Dennis, 49, of Hansen, was travelling westbound in a 2006 Peterbilt tractor hauling a 2011 Trinity products trailer loaded with potatoes. Dennis failed to negotiate a curve and overturned on the south side of the road.

Dennis' passenger, Tamara F. Sartain, 53, of Hansen, was transported by air ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center.

The westbound lane was blocked for approximately 1 hour. The eastbound lane was blocked for approximately 3 hours. They are both now open.

It is unknown if Dennis and Sartain were wearing their seatbelts.

This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

At this time, the Idaho State Police is investigating a single vehicle crash eastbound US26 at milepost 176, west of Richfield. Both eastbound and westbound lanes are completely blocked. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area if possible and to use an alternate route. More information will be relayed as it becomes available.
