MERIDIAN - Detectives with the Idaho State Police discovered dismembered skeletal human remains in a remote cabin and the property surrounding it in Boise County while executing a search warrant on Tuesday, October 7.  Detectives recently received information that led them to the cabin and property in search of the body at 13 Betty Lane in Boise County.

Based on preliminary information investigators believe that the remains are those of Joshua James Reddington who has been missing since May 26, 2000.  Reddington, a resident of Salmon, Idaho, was 25 years old at the time of his disappearance and was last seen in Idaho City during the Memorial Day Weekend.

The remains and other evidence found will be analyzed in order to obtain a positive identification and a cause of death.  The results of these tests could take several weeks to obtain.

Idaho State Police will continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Reddington and what now appears to be a homicide.    ISP has been assisted in the investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Boise County Sheriff's Office and the Lemhi County Sheriff's Office.

Anyone with information about Reddington's disappearance or death is urged to contact the Idaho State Police at 208-846-7550.  Callers may remain anonymous.
