On Sunday, September 28, 2014 at approximately 5:10 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle crash westbound I-84 at milepost 21.

Marino Paz See, 18, of Vale, OR, was westbound on I-84 at milepost 21 in a 2001 Kia Optima. Paz See slowed to turn around in an emergency crossover. Rick Hill, 21, of Parma was driving behind Paz See in a 1996 Dodge Dakota. The Dakota struck the Optima from behind. The Optima went into the median, rolled once, and came to rest on its wheels. The Dakota came to rest farther down the road in the left lane.

Paz See and his passenger, Daniela Hernandez, 17, of Payette, were transported to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise by ground ambulance. Both were wearing their seatbelts.

Hill was transported to a hospital by private vehicle. He was wearing a seatbelt.

The left lane was blocked for approximately and hour and a half. The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
