On Friday, September 26, 2014, at approximately 7:01 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle crash eastbound I-84 at milepost 33, in Nampa.

Randall Britton, 48, of Richfield, UT, was eastbound on I-84 in a 2003 Peterbuilt semi pulling a single trailer. Elena Estrada-Ayala, 28, of Nampa, was also eastbound on I-84 in a 1992 Honda Accord. Estrada-Ayala was in the right lane and Britton was in the left lane. When Britton changed to the right lane, the semi struck the left rear of the Honda, causing Estrada-Ayala to lose control of the vehicle. The Honda went into the median and overturned.

Neither Britton nor his passenger, Nicki Roberts, 30, of Columbus, MT, were transported. Both were wearing their seatbelts.

Four passengers in Estrada-Ayala's vehicle were transported to the hospital by ground ambulance. Olga Ayala-Ayala, 37, of Melba, and Baldera Herrera, 40, of Nampa, were transported to Saint Alphonsus Health Plaza in Nampa. Andrea Sotelo-Dominguez, 46, of Nampa, and Anna Jimenez, 30, of Nampa, were transported to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

Estrada-Ayala, Ayala-Ayala, and Jimenez were wearing their seatbelts. Herrera was not wearing a seatbelt and it is unknown if Sotelo-Dominguez was wearing a seatbelt.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
