On August 29, 2014, at approximately 6:45 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a nine-vehicle crash at 100 N and Lewisville Highway in Jefferson county. Mark Tanner, 33, of Shelley, was westbound on 100 N in a 1996 GMC Yukon. Kristopher Barnett, 42, of Menan, was northbound on Lewisville Highway in a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe. Tanner failed to stop at a stop sign, and struck Barnett's vehicle on the passenger side. Tanner's vehicle continued on, striking a 1987 Dodge Dakota parked at a residence, and came to rest after striking the residence. Barnett's vehicle also continued on, striking a 1994 Toyota Camry, a 1973 Olympic motor home, and three trailers parked at another residence. One of the trailers was pushed into a 1989 Honda Accord.

Tanner was not wearing his seatbelt and was transported to the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center by ground ambulance. Barnett was wearing his seatbelt and was not transported. None of the other vehicles were occupied, and the residents of the home were not injured. The crash is still under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
