ISP traffic stop leads to Methamphetamine and weapon seizure near Idaho Falls

On Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 9:49 A.M., an Idaho State Police trooper conducted a routine traffic stop on Interstate 15 at milepost 117, near Idaho Falls. During the traffic stop an ISP K-9 drug dog was deployed and a search of the vehicle revealed 3.3lbs of methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, two semi-automatic hand guns and one revolver. Kimberly Rose, 18, of Twin Falls and Uriel Ortega, 25, also of Twin Falls were arrested on felony drug trafficking charges and are being held at the Bonneville County Jail. This incident remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.


On Monday July 14th at 10 A.M., Idaho State Police will hold a Press Conference at its District 6 patrol office located at 1540 Foote Drive, Idaho Falls. Members of the press will be invited to photograph and film the evidence recovered from the traffic stop. ISP's K-9 Drug Dog "Apollo" will also be present at the press conference.
