**Update** Transported Heavy Equipment Damages Meridian Road Overpass

***UPDATE***

On Thursday June 5, 2014 at approximately 9:22 am, Idaho State Police investigated a four-vehicle property damage crash on I84 at milepost 44, in Meridian. Miles W. Harper, 26, of Nampa was westbound in a 1997 Kenworth truck that was pulling a 2003 flatbed trailer loaded with an excavator. The excavator arm was extended and hit the overpass beam causing damage to the overpass. The debris caused damage to three other vehicles. No injuries were reported. At this time the right lane of travel near the overpass is still blocked, unknown when it will be reopened. Idaho Transportation Department is still determining the significance of the damage.

The Idaho State Police are currently investigating a crash westbound on Interstate 84 at milepost 44, Meridian Road. At this time the westbound lanes of Interstate 84 are reduced to two lanes and northbound State Highway 69, Meridian Road, is restricted to one lane.

Dispatchers received an initial report of a vehicle hauling heavy equipment that struck the Meridian Road Overpass at approximately 9:22 a.m.. ITD is currently on scene assessing the damage to the overpass. Several vehicles did strike debris from the overpass damage.
