Fatal crash on US-95 near Pollock

On June 2, 2014, at approximately 10:58 a.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle fatal crash northbound on US-95 at milepost 184, two miles south of Pollock. Bruce Long, 49, of Pollock, was southbound on US-95 in a 1997 Kenworth semi pulling an empty logging trailer. A 1987 Toyota Camry was northbound on US-95. The Camry failed to negiotiate a right curve, crossing into the oncoming lane of travel, where it collided with the front of the semi.

The male driver of the Camry was transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston by air ambulance. The juvenile female passenger in the Camry was transported to St. Luke's McCall Medical Center in McCall by ground ambulance, and then to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise by air ambulance. The juvenile male passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. The driver was wearing his seatbelt, but neither of the passengers were wearing theirs. Long was not injured in the crash. He was wearing his seatbelt. The names of the occupants of the Camry are not being released, pending notification to next of kin. The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
