On March 26, 2014, at approximately 11:55 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated a crash involving two commercial vehicles westbound on Interstate 84 at milepost 9, east of Payette, Idaho.

William E Katzer, 46, of Lakeland, Florida was driving east in a Volvo tractor pulling a box trailer when he went through the median and overturned in the westbound lanes. Vitalie Sclerov, 29, of Orlando, Florida was driving westbound in a Volvo tractor pulling a trailer when he crashed into Katzer?s trailer.

Traffic had come to a halt when, at approximately 12:43 p.m., there was another crash at the same location. Manuel D. Montoufar, 57, of Norwalk, California was stopped in a Freightliner tractor pulling a utility trailer. Kimberly M. Drew, 31, of Nampa, was driving westbound in a Hyundai Tiburon when she collided with the back of Montoufar's trailer.

Katzer was transported by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. Sclerov was transported by ground ambulance to St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Ontario, Oregon.

The road was blocked for approximately three and a half hours.

This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

On Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at approximately 11:55 A.M., the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury crash on I84 near mile post 9, in Payette County.

The westbound lanes of travel are completely blocked due to the crash at this time. Motorists are advised to use caution and avoid the area if possible. More information will be released at a later time.
