On Friday, March 21, 2014, at 1:05 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a one vehicle fatality crash southbound Interstate 15 at milepost 74.5 near Chubbuck, ID.

Brett L. Payne, 31, of Pocatello, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe south on Interstate 15, drifted off the left shoulder, over corrected, and went off the right shoulder, the vehicle overturned. Payne was ejected from the vehicle. Payne was not wearing a seat belt. Payne was transported by ground ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello where he succumbed to his injuries.

Next of kin have been notified.
