On February 10, 2014, at approximately 9:26 a.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle, fatality crash on State Highway 44, at milepost 2.7, near Rhodenbaugh Lane, just west of Middleton.

Chase A. Panda, 19, of Caldwell, was travelling eastbound on State Highway 44 in a 2009 Dodge Journey. Seyran Minasyan, 49, of California was driving a 2008 Volvo tractor pulling a utility trailer. Minasyan was turning westbound onto State Highway 44 when his trailer was struck by Panda. Panda succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Minasyan was not transported.

Next of kin has been notified.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.

State Highway 44 was blocked for approximately 3 hours.

This crash is currently under investigation by the Idaho State Police.


The Idaho State Police is currently investigating a crash involving two vehicles on State Highway 44 at milepost 2.7 near Middleton. At this time all lanes are blocked. Use alternate route of travel.
