On January 15, 2014, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 30 near Twin Falls. Melva Bengoechea, age 72 of Twin Falls, was traveling west on U.S. 30 in a 2005 Subaru Legacy. As Bengoechea turned south onto North 2700 East Road fron U.S. 30, she failed to yield to a 2003 Toyota Tacoma pickup traveling east on U.S. 30. The Toyota was being driven by Steven Koonce, age 34 of Filer.

The eastbound lanes of U.S. 30 were blocked for approximately 90 minutes, reopening just before 8 p.m. The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

At this time, Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 30 at milepost 215, west of Twin Falls. The eastbound lane of travel is currently blocked. More information will be released as it becomes available.
