The driver of the vehicle was Steven Lenon, age 61 of Eagle, ID. His next of kin has been notified.

On Monday, November 19, 2012, at approximately 7:19 pm, Idaho State Police investigated a one vehicle fatality crash on State Highway 55 outside of Horseshoe Bend.

When emergency crews arrived, a 1997 Toyota 4 Runner was located upside down in the river just north of Porter Creek at approximately mile post 67 on State Highway 55. One occupant and a dog were found in the vehicle deceased. The name of the victim is not being released until family notifications can be made.

The driver was northbound on State Highway 55 and went off the right shoulder, and overcorrected. The vehicle went off the left shoulder, down the embankment, and overturned into the river. The driver was wearing a seatbelt. Weather was not a factor in this crash.

This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police with assistance from emergency crews from Horseshoe Bend and Crouch.
