On Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at approximately 2:52 pm, Idaho State Police investigated a non- injury crash on U.S. 26 near Beeches Corner, north of Idaho Falls.

Brian A. Toop, age 33, of Idaho Falls, was driving a 2001 Federal Express Freightliner west on Telford Road. Toop failed to yield from the stop sign at the intersection of Telford Road and U.S. 26, also known as North Yellowstone Highway. The truck collided with a 1997 Mazda pickup, driven by Emily R. Reyes, age 21, of Provo, Utah.

An Idaho State Police Hazardous Material Specialist was called to the scene as a precaution. The truck was hauling radiopharmaceuticals used for medical procedures. None of the packages were damaged. Both vehicles received moderate damage. The scene and the truck was checked for radiation release and found to be safe with no leaks reported. One of the eastbound lanes of U.S. 26 was blocked for one hour during the crash investigation. Toop and Reyes were both wearing seatbelts.

This crash is still under investigation by the Idaho State Police with assistance from Bonneville County Sheriff's Office.
